Common Progress was established in 1983, since then the company, backed by major shipping banks, has invested in dry-bulk vessels of all sizes.

During its 36-year history, Common Progress has acquired 35 vessels (Panamax to Handysize, i.e., 28,000-76,000 dwt)  totaling more than 1,000,000 dwt. It recently ordered and supervised the construction of six Supramax bulk carriers in COSCO Shipyard’s facility in Dalian China.  The company consequently bought two modern Ultramax vessels in 2017.

The management company is based in Maroussi Athens with 36 shore-based personnel and more than 400 seafarers from Greece and the Philippines onboard its Greek flagged fleet.

During the company’s history, high standards, and a reputation as a traditional, quality operator have generated repeat business and created long-standing relationships with most major charterers.  Common Progress endeavors to operate its vessels cost-effectively and efficiently without compromising its high standards of performance reliability and safety.
